This page can't pull the video or audio directly from a YouTube link — browsers deliberately keep video sites sandboxed from other pages, so there's no way for AutoAD to read YouTube's picture or sound automatically. It can still keep the link with your project, and work fully once you have the actual video file.

Tip: for large camera-original files, importing a compressed 1080p proxy (if you have one) instead of the raw footage will be faster and more reliable — the AD draft only needs to see the shot clearly, not full resolution.

About this tool & its limits
Gap detection uses audio loudness, not real speech recognition — it flags quiet stretches, which usually means no dialogue, but loud music or effects can hide a real gap, and a quiet line of dialogue can be mistaken for one. AI-drafted descriptions can misread a scene, so review every line, especially anything about a person's identity, emotion or intent. A video loaded from this device stays only in this browser tab's memory — it is never sent anywhere. A video imported from Google Drive is relayed through Anthropic's servers on its way into the browser, since that's how the Drive connection works; nothing about that step is stored as a file by this tool, but this page can't promise it never touches a server the way a local upload can. Generating a description sends just the one captured video frame for that gap to Claude, not the whole video. Saving a project stores its text and timecodes (never the video) in this browser's own storage, on this device only — it won't show up if you open AutoAD on a different device or browser, and clearing this browser's site data will erase it too. YouTube links can be stored with a project for reference, but this page cannot read a YouTube video's picture or sound directly, so gap scanning and AI drafting need an actual video file.
